It’s All About People Again!

Jennifer Wilson

I’m writing this from the AICPA Practitioners Symposium and TECH+ Conference in Las Vegas. It’s day two and in all of the sessions, all of the discussions, the LOUDEST theme is PEOPLE! If you tune into the Twitter feed at #PSTech, you’ll see what I mean. Topics range from the shortage of experienced staff, the challenges onboarding and teaching new hires, developing future leaders and retaining top talent, every session – even the highly technical ones — touches on the people issues in some way.

At ConvergenceCoaching, we think it’s all about people, all the time and we’ve done a lot of thinking, writing and teaching on the subjects that are most challenging to our CPA clients. I thought I’d share some of my top picks for blogs that can help you deal with the people challenges you face. Consider reading even one and see if there’s an idea for a specific action you can take away. Even a small step can make a big difference. Some of my favorite people-related blogs are:

We post to this blog once per week, usually on Wednesday and you can search the blog by key word (search box is on the lower right-hand side of the page). We also write for the CPA Insider, Accounting Tomorrow, the CPA Consultants’ Alliance and various state society publications, too. If you have a particular people issue, we may have some solutions or know someone who has – post to this blog and we’ll do our best to help. And, if you have solutions, share those, too!

Focus your leadership and management energy on your people and your firm’s success will be assured!

Gratefully,
